Over the lifetime of one 30-kW photovoltaic system, the environmental benefit is the same as removing more than 1,075 tons of carbon dioxide. This is equivalent to removing more than 300 cars from Sacramento area freeways.
By generating with solar power, your company helps reduce the major contributors to air pollution, smog, acid rain and global warming.
PV systems are powered by the sun and burn no fuel. They have no moving parts and are safe for you and the environment.
Building industry company General Truss called SMUD to help turn a massive roof into a home for enough solar panels to cover more than three-quarters of the firm's energy needs.
Install solar PV and get cash from SMUD SMUD offers financial incentives to commercial and industrial customers who install and produce their own electricity with photovoltaic systems. The current one-time incentive of $1.90 per watt (up to 1 MW) is based on the system's expected performance (EPBI).
SMUD also offers a Performance Based Incentive (PBI) in lieu of the upfront buy-down incentive. The current 5-year PBI is $0.30 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) produced. The 10-year PBI option is $0.18 per kWh. Systems installed under a Third Party Power Purchase Agreement or lease receive the 5-year or 10-year PBI option only. SMUD also offers declining PBI payments for systems larger than 1 megawatt. Please call Jim Barnett at (916) 732-6762.
Solar electric systems are the most environmentally friendly way of generating electricity. This technology is used to harness the sun's energy to produce clean power. Businesses across the country are embracing the economic and environmental benefits of investing in solar electricity. For SMUD rates and net metering information, click here.
