Your SMUD rates

SMUD customers pay lower electric bills than most Californians. Compared to PG&E rates, SMUD residential customers pay significantly less. View rate comparison.

The following listed rates sheets (available in PDF format) contain all effective rates, rules and regulations applicable to the territory served by SMUD. These files must be viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded free from the Adobe Web site.

The following schedules reflect the rates approved on Jan. 1, 2008.

Hydro Generation Adjustment (HGA)

The SMUD Board approved a hydro generation adjustment tariff on May 15 that will go into effect on July 1, 2008. The HGA will be reflected on customer bills beginning April 10, 2009, with annual updates either increasing or decreasing rates, as described on the tariff sheet.
